evo buc mal analize canesov :
-
Miami DE Allen Bailey entered the 2010 first-round season as a potential mid-first round pick due in large part to his size (6-foot-3, 287 pounds) and natural strength. Bailey has the power to stack the edge against the run and is a strong bull rusher when he can get under the pads of blockers.
He showed that impressive bull rush against Maryland, flat-out running over the offensive tackle on a bull rush before delivering a heavy hit on the quarterback, and he also displayed a good first step and the ability to get into position against the run.
However, Bailey is not a gifted athlete who sometimes struggles to change directions, and while he did line up as a 3-technique at times he struggled to stay low and anchor on the interior. He also lacks suddenness as a pass rusher and his motor is inconsistent. His best fit is at left end in a 4-3 scheme, but overall Bailey has fallen from the top half of the first round to the early part of the second.
-
On the outside, Hurricanes CB Brandon Harris has good size (5-10, 193) and top-end speed. He uses his hands well to jam receivers at the line and is fluid enough to turn his hips and run with receivers. His overall footwork is choppy at times, though, and Harris struggles to make sudden changes in direction. He’s also still developing his instincts and awareness in terms of reading routes.
Harris is a willing tackler in run support but his angles are inconsistent, and against Notre Dame WR Michael Floyd it became clear that Harris has trouble playing the ball against bigger receivers. Harris carries a fringe first-round grade right now but I think he’ll fall into the mid-to-late second by the time draft day rolls around.
-
Two other Hurricanes rank as mid-to-late round prospects. ILB Colin McCarthy is instinctive and shows good overall field awareness. McCarthy rarely takes false steps, is good with his run fits, tackles well and can hold up in underneath zone coverage. However, he is not a great athlete and his lack of range is exposed at times. McCarthy also lacks explosion at the point of attack and struggles to get blockers off his frame, all of which puts him in the middle rounds.
-
Finally, CB Demarcus Van Dyke has good size (6-1, 185) and blazing speed, but he’s a bit tight and struggles to change directions and when coming out of his backpedal. He plays the ball well, flashes good awareness and uses his hands well to jam receivers, but Van Dyke lacks strength as a tackler and his lack of lateral agility will get exposed at the next level. He grades as a late-round prospect.

Could the balance of power in the Pac-10 shift back to USC — especially in the state of California? Possibly.
A big time recruiting weekend landed big time benefits as they received commitments from Stanford recruits, running back Amir Carlisle, and linebacker Anthony Sarao.
“I honestly haven’t heard from anyone at Stanford in awhile,” Sarao said. “I got a letter saying coach [Jim] Harbaugh was leaving, but that was really about it. I also had a good relationship with Coach [Vic] Fangio, the DC there, but he left to go to the 49ers, so I decided I needed to make sure I covered my bases and looked around at all my options.
The fact that USC is taking Stanford’s recruits could mean that the Trojans could re-establish their Pac-10 supremacy sooner than expected, despite their recruiting limitations. The Trojans now have nine four-star recruits and one five-star recruit. It also means that Stanford’s run as one of the Pac-10′s elite could be short-lived — especially with Jim Harbaugh now in San Francisco.

EULESS, Texas — Brandon Carter is staying home.
The Euless Trinity star receiver told ESPNDallas.com on Tuesday night he is switching his verbal commitment from Oklahoma to TCU.
Carter, who had committed to Oklahoma last June, was decked out in TCU gear while watching the Trinity girls basketball team in action.
The change was influenced by TCU’s intent to use him as a slot receiver and the fact that the Fort Worth campus is only 25 miles from Euless.
